Once in Bariloche a fleet of buses will be readily

Less than twenty kilometres away from the town itself,

CATHEDRAL HILL

Less than twenty kilometres away from the town
itself, one of the most important winter sports centres
of the country can be found. This is the Cerro Catedral
(Cathedral Hill), where national and international skiing
and other snow-related sports can be practised.
Its 2000-hectare skiing surface together with its 97 kilometres
of ski runs and stunningly beautiful views provide both,
beginners and experts skiers, everything they need to enjoy
the best skiing experience.
With a total capacity of thirty-two elevation media transporting
22,200 skiers an hour, each year international competitors
and ski lovers gather together in this centre. The main
ways of getting to the summit are: nine chair lifts, two
baby-lifts, seventeen Tele-skis, two carrousels, and one
sextuple chair lift.
In the villa, located one thousand meters high, tourists
and particularly skiers have the chance of staying in highly
comfortable hotels surrounded by an amazing environment
and a magnificent view.

CATHEDRAL HILL

This tour begins in the city centre, travelling
along Pioneros Avenue until an access within the first few
kilometres is found.
Four kilometres ahead a place named Piedras Blancas is
reached. At this point stunningly beautiful scenarios of
Nahuel Huapi, Moreno and Guitiérrez lakes can already
be devised.
The higher one gets, the better the view becomes from
Tronador, Catedral and Campanario peaks.
In order to practise snow-related winter sports or simply
to enjoy the magnificent views you can also use the lift
at Cerro Otto. Its lowest station is located at Kilometre
5, Pioneros Avenue.

OTTO HILL

This excursion starts from San Carlos de Bariloche
town.
After travelling eight kilometres through a pathway along
the coast of Nahuel Huapi Lake, we will come across Playa
Bonita.
Furthermore, ten kilometres ahead, the Campanario Hill
is reached. Through a chair lift it is possible to get to
the summit of this hill and enjoy the fascinating view of
the Perito Moreno Lake, the Trébol Lagoon, and Otto,
López, Goye and Catedral peaks. |
SMALL CIRCUIT

Tronador Hill |
Given that this journey is about 215 kilometres
long, it will, in all probability, be necessary to spend
an entire day at this hill.
The Tronador’s highest peak is 3460 meters high and
there are several mountain huts to spend the night along
the hill for those willing to climb it. For example, Otto
Meiling Refuge at almost 2050 meters above sea level and
Tronador Refuge at about 2270 meters high.
Another well worth visiting spot is The Alerces Cascade,
a beautiful cascade surrounded by ancient alerces.

TRONADOR HILL

Island of Victoria and Arrayan Forest |
Starting from the city itself and after reaching
a loading dock, a boat ride will takes us to a small Island
called Victoria.
From the Island of Victoria the boat trip shall be continued
to Puerto Quetri Hué, in order to visit the Arrayan
forest, where magnificent Arrayan samples make up a unique
forest.
The Arrayan is a beautiful tree of about eighteen meters
high with a cinnamon colour, wonderful white flowers and
tasty violet fruits. Adding to this, these trees are believed
to be 300 years old.
Owing to its remarkable beauty, this forest is protected
as a national monument.

ARRAYAN FOREST

Starting from Puerto Pañuelo and after
sailing along the extensive Brazo Blest, passing very close
to the Centinela Islet, a port bearing the same name is
reached.
In the Centinela Islet the remains of Perito Francisco
Pascacio Moreno, the man who donated the plot where nowadays
the Nahuel Huapi National Park is placed, rest in peace.
Once in Puerto Blest it is possible to have lunch. After
lunch is over we will continue climbing, heading towards
the Pitchers Cascade (Cascada Los Cántaros). In order
to reach this spot it is necessary to go up some wooden
steps up to an approximate height of 600 meters, bordering
the torrent.
Several falls and cascades of remarkable beauty can be admired
from there.
Moreover, this region is blessed with bushy vegetation and
an excessively humid weather.
