As it was previously mentioned, due to its large dimensions, this country borders almost every nation on the South American continent except Ecuador and Chile. Hence, it has easy access by almost any of the existing means of transport.

One of the major causes of the increase in the number of tourists visiting the area was the improvements in the air transport system.

New air routes were introduced, leaving from Scandinavian countries and heading for the capital cities of the north east area of Brazil, Natal mainly.

Furthermore, regular flights to Rio de Janeiro operate in most South American cities. The airport tax for international flights is as high as 36 dollars.

Brazil's national airline is Varig (RG) but flights from airlines such as Iberia, Air Europa, Aerolíneas Argentinas, Air France, American Airlines, KLM, LAN-Chile, British Airways, Air Portugal and TAP arrive regularly in Brazil as well.

It is possible to access Brazil by land from a large number of destinations, including the United States. From Uruguay, for example, it is possible to travel to Brazil by bus. From Bolivia, on the other hand, it is possible to travel by a train with an unreliable name.

By Train

A number of train connections link Brazil with Argentina, Bolivia and Chile.

The main international routes include Rio de Janeiro - Buenos Aires; Rio de Janeiro - Santiago; Rio de Janeiro - Sao Paulo - Montevideo; Sao Paulo - Bauru - Corumba - Santa Cruz - La Paz and Sao Paulo - Antofagasta.
