How to Arrive to Buzios Brazil

Buzios is located 170 kilometers away from Rio de Janeiro, which is served by a modern international airport. A large number of airlines operate here, offering non-stop flights.

 

Once in Rio de Janeiro, it is possible to access Buzios by air, by land and by sea.

 

 

How to travel by Air


The Airport of Buzios receives regular flights from the Guarulhos Airport in Rio de Janeiro State and from Santos Dumont Airport; aircrafts with a total capacity for 19 passengers operate here.

 

Moreover, private airlines operate at Armação dos Buzios as well, but these flights arrive at Umberto Mediano Airport. International flights do not land at Buzios.

How to travel by Land

 

By Car

 

It takes two hours to travel from Rio de Janeiro to Buzios. If you are travelling from the north area of the state, Route BR-101 must be followed in first place and then the entrance to Rio das Ostras, to travel some 56 kilometers until Buzios is reached.

 

If not, we will leave from the Rio-Niterói bridge. After crossing it, we must turn left heading for Rio Bonito and then right, facing in the direction of Araruama-Cabo Frio, through Via Lagos.

 

At the end of the road, we must continue travelling along the path some 5 kilometers until Ipiranga petrol station is reached (at the entrance of São Pedro da Aldeia). From there, we must travel 14 kilometers along route RJ-106 heading for Macaé- Buzios in order to turn right and arrive in Buzios.

By Bus

 

In order to access Buzios by bus, in first place it is necessary to reach the Rodoviária Novo Río or Novo Rio Bus Station.

 

There are bus and taxi services available from Rio de Janeiro International Airport to the bus station. Buses from Viação Real bus company, for instance, run all day long.

How to travel by Sea 

 

Given that this beautiful city is surrounded by sea, Buzios has easy access by boat.

 

During the summer days, from December until March, several cruise ships arrive at the area. Generally, they remain anchored here for an entire day or more.
