Cordoba has a wide range of attractions to offer, such as recreational activities, relaxation, and adventures in a place where we are really close to nature. Moreover, this city boasts a busy city life and an amusing nightlife.

Owing to the great luminosity of the area (the sun shines brightly all year long) and the pure air, this province is widely regarded as an excellent place to alleviate health problems such as breathing difficulties among others.

Cordoba can be enjoyed all year round. For nature lovers, visiting the conservation areas and parks is highly recommended. Moreover, there are places for visitors keen on farm tourism or adventure holidays as well.

For adventurous people and sport lovers, among the many other attractions that Cordoba offers, windsurf, sailing, canoeing, water skiing, moto cross, kite board, jet ski, boat rides and international rally are some of the most exciting activities.

The area within Sierras Chicas (Small Sierras) in Cordoba boasts a perfect combination of landscapes. Rivers, streams, small towns and even urbanised areas can be enjoyed here.

In the tourist area a large number of beautiful historic sites can be enjoyed. Among the many other attractions that these small historic towns have to offer it is possible to stroll along the small paths, contemplate the river or visit the Candonga Chapel.

Moreover, the gastronomic and tourist offer is excellent in any of the province’s cities, where a wide range of musical shows can be enjoyed as well as the famous Río Ceballos Casino.

The Town Council (Cabildo), which has been completely renovated, was for a long time an important meeting place where political activity took place. Nowadays, in spite of the changes that the town council has undergone, it still serves important functions.

Currently, this old building with modern facilities serves as auditorium, meeting place, tourist information centre and art exhibition hall.  

Owing to the renovation the building underwent, the colonial style is no longer a feature of it, despite the fact that it was built during the seventeenth century. The Town Council used to work as a jail and as police headquarters as well.

The Carmelitas Descalzas Monastery, also known as Las Teresas Church, has been declared National Historic Monument, and its part of the national heritage. Nowadays, its main cloister works as nuns’ home.

While the facade has an American style, the convent’s gate, which has seven courtyards from where the cloisters can be seen, the graveyard and the old hermitage have a baroque style.

Punilla Valley is a highly attractive place since it covers not only a number of small towns but also the great city of Carlos Paz.

For nature lovers visiting the interesting spots where hidden waterfalls can be found or simply marvel at the breathtaking beauty of the many others cascades is highly recommended. 

Erosion and crystal clear water are some of Los Terrones’ most outstanding features. Moreover, in this beautiful place the Cosquín Festical takes place annually offering huge fun and entertainment.

Puntilla Valley offers a wide array of attractions. These range from first-class hotels, large theatres and historic churches to beautiful pedestrianized streets and even golf courses.

During the year 2006 Cordoba was designated as America’s Cultural Capital. “Cordoba is the heart of culture and this is a great oportunity to prove it (...). We must fulfil our duties and be worthy of the occasion”.
