Located in the Austral corridor on the shore
of the Argentinian Lake, it is El Calafate, the entrance
to the majestic world of the glaciers.
Along the time El
Calafate has obtained national and international significance
and it has become an important tourist centre, from it,
all the glaciers circuit starts.
Surrounded by a steppe landscape, the visitors are surprised
by it due to the scenery, the turquoise blue color of the
Argentinian Lake and the proper vegetation of a desert zone;
it is an oasis of poplars, willows and pines.

dishes and sell of regional and handmade products of the
whole country.
The Calafate is located 315 km from Gallegos River, capital
of the Santa Cruz province and 80 km to National Park Los
Glaciares.
