How to travel by Land
By Bus
This is the most popular means of transport in Guatemala city. There are bus services to travel to and from the city as well as local services to travel around the city. This means of transport is cheap and provides easy access to the main areas in Guatemala. The highways from El Peten are the most popular when it comes to road transport. However, due to their important mud base, these highways become rather dangerous on rainy days since they get slippery. Sometimes it may even be necessary to close the roads to traffic.
