Land and Maritime National Park

The well known National Park, located in the archipelago of Cabrera about two hours by boat from Majorca, is currently one of the greatest attractions in the area.

 

This place posses a vast natural wealth where a variety of animal species can be found and a rich marine ecosystem. Hence, it was declared Land and Marine National Park in 1991.

 

In addition, this place offers other major attractions such as archaeological sites and the Castle of the XIV century which has been recently declared a monument of special historic and artistic interest.

 

In order to access the park, boats go there from Petro and Sant Jordi Colony. In order to travel there in a private boat a prior authorization is required.

Caves of Drach

The Drach Caves are actually four caves connected to each other and date from the Miocene period.

 

These caves, which are natural attractions not to be missed, are formed by the strength of seawater against the rocks.

 

Children under seven can visit this place for free. The tour includes a mini concert held in Lago Martel (Martel Lake).

Majorca Museum

The Majorca Museum works at the building known as "La Casa de Gran Cristiana". Such building dates from the XVII century and its architecture is truly Majorcan in style.

 

Nevertheless, there are also Baroque touches in some areas such as the hallway, the courtyard, and four arches.

 

The museum contains interesting archaeological remains, furniture, paintings and figurative art. It is divided into three sections: one of Fine Arts, one devoted to Islamic Archaeology, and the third one to Industrial Arts.
