Cisneros Square |
The Plaza Cisneros (a square named Cisneros) is one of Medellin’s most recent attractions and the result of an adventurous renovation program aimed at recovering the city’s active life.
The square got its name from the historic Plaza Cisneros, since it is located in the same place where the old square used to be.
This square is a powerful symbol of the city. What is more, a forest of shining posts arranged in the shape of a spiral, three hundred towers, two thousand and one hundred spotlights and a hundred and seventy floor lamps are some of the most attractive features of it. An awe-inspiring sight.

CISNEROS SQUARE

This zoo, which was founded in 1959 by the Sociedad de Mejoras Públicas and inaugurated in 1961, is located in plots that in the past used to belong to the Hacienda Santa Fe (Santa Fe country estate) and were donated by Mercedes Sierra de Pérez.
Among the one thousand and four hundred animals that can be found here, fourteen are exotic animals while the rest are members of native species.
Moreover, several exhibition rooms are available at the zoo’s old house, each of them decorated and furnished according to the different periods of Medellin’s history.

The Unidad Deportiva Atanasio Girardot (Atanasio Girardot Sports Venue) is one of the most popular places among the city inhabitants since it proves ideal for doing sports and for recreation.
Facilities for about fifty different sports are available at this sports stadium, which is currently one of the best ones in Latin America.
A main coliseum and a minor coliseum, football stadium, tennis club, jockey field, skating, Olympic pool, and a cycle track are some of the main ones.

Nutibara Hill |
More commonly known by the name Pueblito Paisa, the popular Nutibara Hill is located in the heart of Medellin and is a reconstruction of a typical Antioquia village.
This village consists of some small houses, a school, a church and the mayor’s office. Moreover, sculptures, restaurants and crafts can be found here as well as an amazing viewpoint.

Another well worth visiting attractions in Medellin is the Planetarium, where up-to-date and sophisticated technical equipment can be found.
The building consists of a wonderful hall where slides are developed. This hall is fully equipped and has a total capacity of three hundred people. It is covered by a dome with a diameter larger than seventeen meters.
Finally, there is an auditorium with a total capacity of two hundred people available as well, a library, exhibition halls for aeronautical models, an observatory and a didactic room.
