There is no doubt that this is truly a symbol
of the resort that identifies it and also makes the difference
between it and other resorts.
Is the unavoidable area to go when you visit Piriapolis,
a place where the air smells to pine and sea, it begins
in the Inmigrant Square up to the Yacht port.
The hills landscape that surrounds it, the palm trees,
the Argentinian Hotel, the La Pasiva tour up to the roundabout
and the Colón Hotel, the Rambla of the English, all
these are ingredients that add excellence to such a place

This reserve is on the bottom of the Pan de Azucar
hill, this place many years ago used to be a miner industry;
the reserve has been the result of the dream of Tabare Gonzalez;
a dream that came true.
This man accepted the proposal of the gubernator Curuchet
who proposed him to leave his current job (bank employee)
in order to be in charge of a hill full of stones and mud,
the one that nowadays is visited by 350.000 people per year.
At the moment is a proud for the Fernandina community and
the main attraction of the reserve is that most of the 600
species of animal that are kept there are semi – captive.

NATURAL RESERVE

This park is on Artigas Avenue and Route 37.
It was built by the owner and founder of the resort when
the area started to be populated.
It is in the middle of an artificial water fall and a small
dock in the “Canada del Puesto Viejo”. Although
it was abandoned during a long time ago, nowadays has been
rebuilt and has become a municipal park.
Besides, it has a small amphitheatre, children games, a
museum, a small bar, and many things to spend a nice day,
with barbecues and tables, all these in a beautiful park.

This park is situated over Route 9, close to
Pan de Azúcar creek and has got a lot of vegetation
and flora species of our nature.
It is a clear example of our named “Montes Riberenos”
here can be noticed the association of species, the interaction
between them and the fauna, but especially with the water.
In these hills there are species really big or high close
to the water but as you move further away from there the
trees are not that high and appears the species that resist
the lack of water, this is a manner of managing the species
that are in these forests.
