How to travel by Air |
Rio de Janeiro has two airports, Santos Dumont Airport, where domestic flights and flights to the MERCOSUR operate and Carlos Jobim International Airport (best known as Galeao) located in the Governor’s Island.
Antonio Carlos Jobim International Airport is the city’s main international airport and it is named after the Brazilian musician Antônio Carlos Jobim.
It is located about 20 minutes away from the city centre, in the Ilha do Governador (Governor’s Island), in the north area of the city. We access the airport through Presidente João Goulart expressway first and then following Vinte de Janeiro Avenue.

How to travel by Bus
It is possible to access Rio de Janeiro city by bus as well, since there are bus services available to and from all of the most important destinations.
To San Pablo for example, buses run every fifteen minutes, while for other destinations it is possible to go by the so-called “Leito”, really comfortable buses that travel at night.

How to travel by Car
In order to access the city by car leaving from San Pablo, Presidente Dutra highway (BR 116) or Rio-Santos highway (BR-101) must be followed.
In order to travel from Belo Horizonte, BR 040 route should be followed and from Salvador BR-101, BR-324, BR-116, BR-393, or BR-040 have to be followed. |

Rio de Janeiro has two main ports for exports and imports, Rio de Janeiro’s port, located in the Guanabara Bay and Sepetiba’s port, located in the west of Sepetiba Bay.
Moreover, many maritime cruises that go along the Brazilian coast are recieved in Rio de Janeiro’s Port. |
