Museo Primeros Pobladores (First Settlers Museum) |
This museum, which is located in the city’s civic center and was built in 1930, works in an attractive wooden house. It contains a collection of works which are an important part of the city’s rich historical heritage.
Formerly, this house worked as headquarters of the city’s first Comisión Fomento (First Local Committee of Public Works) and later the municipality began to operate here until 1962.
That same year this construction was moved about nine blocks away from the original place to work as a home and lunch room for workers and as a shed to stock materials.
Finally, in 1987 the museum was restored and it began to work as the First Settlers Museums, a place that is steeped into history where pieces of great archaeological value can be found.
