There are many tourist attractions when you think about visiting Ushuaia and all its surrounding area, however, and as almost all the time happens, there are certain places that you can not miss.

If you go on climbing, after a couple of hours of walk you can finally experiment the sensation of having ice in your hands.

After going through the Andes Fueguinos, 60 km up on the north and passing by the main winter centers of the province, you will find this beautiful and marvelous hidden lake in the range, on the bottom of Garibaldi Paso.

To get there you must drive 36 km of pavement and 24 of stone roads by National route nº 3. After arriving you can walk through the mountains that surround it and practice fishing sport.

This lake is 160 km on the north of Ushuaia; it is a privileged place to practice activities such as sportive fishing, navigation or just to see the extensive fauna of the place.

At the same time driving on National Route nº 3 and then by the complementary “H”, in this place there are also the Yehuin, Chepelmut and Yakush lakes, all of them available for fishing “trucha”, tours on boats and fauna seeing. Besides, there is the option of complementing these activities with rural tourism.

This lake is situated 160 km on the north of Ushuaia, it is a privileged place to practice different activities, such as sportive fishing, navigation or just to enjoy the extensive fauna of the place.

To get here you must take National route nº 3 and then take the complementary “H”, here there are also the lakes Yehuin, Chepelmut and Yakush, all of them available for fishing trout, for tours in motorboats, and to sightsee the fauna. Besides you can complement these activities with the alternative of rural tourism.

In these zone you can also see the Shenolsh hill, natural habitat of the andino condor from the Patagonia, from where you can see an amazing panoramic view of all the area.

The park is 11 km on the best of Ushuaia; it is the unique park in Argentina that has coast over the sea (Beagle canal). It has amazing views to the lake and forest for all of those who love nature.

The required element to visit the park is to have your camera ready to take photos of the beauty of this natural reserve. It is also an ideal place for watching aquatic birds like ducks, “cauquenes” and “chorlos”.

In the past the prisoners where transferred by train when there was need to provide firewood to the population. Nowadays, this end of the world train has become a great way of going back in time and to know about the history of Ushuaia, it is like reliving the past times.

The train has to be taken, as it must be, at the end of the world station, the one that is located 8 km on the west of the city. From here and in an imitation of the “prisoners little train” you have the possibility of visiting areas where the prisoners used to go.

Antique forest, rivers, and the reconstruction of a native settlement are seeing all along the trip. This tour also makes a stop at Macarena water fall and in its last part permits to get close to the National Park Tierra del Fuego.

The coast of Tierra del Fuego that goes from San Sebastián Bay up to San Pablo cape is a relevant international important region for the survival of some species of coastal migrational birds. This zone, that occupies most part of the east coast of the island, receives every year many birds of this kind.

Some of them spend there the non reproductive part of their lives here, to go back in autumn to the north hemisphere where the nests are done.
