Villa la Angostura is an extremely peaceful place ideal for getting back to nature. What is more, a large number of recreation areas can be found here as well as varied activities.
For example, going for long walks and horse riding during the summer, canoeing, trekking and mountain bike. As for fishing, the season begins halfway through October.
For people who enjoy sport fishing, it is highly recommended to visit some spots such as the river mouth of Correntoso river, the mouth of Ragintuco and Bonito rivers and the Nahuel Huapi Lake itself.
All this, in addition to excellent accommodation, fine restaurants where mainly regional food is served, tearooms and craft shops make Villa la Angostura a well worth visiting tourist destination.

NAHUEL HUAPI LAKE

The Balneario del Lago Correntoso (Correntoso Lake Resort) becomes especially popular among inhabitants and visitors of the Villa during the summer season. It is possible to access this place travelling four kilometers and a half along the national route 231 heading for the road known as Camino de los Siete Lagos and then turning left.
A campsite is available here and it is proves ideal to come with friends or family to enjoy the beautiful crystal clear and warm waters of the Nahuel Huapi lake. Taking a long bath here is highly recommended, especially when temperatures are very high.
Furthermore, it is possible to visit the world's shortest river, the well known Correntoso river. This place also offers magnificent views and proves ideal for fishing.

CORRENTOSO LAKE

Camino de los Siete Lagos |
The "Camino de los Siete Lagos" (Spanish for "Road of the Seven Lakes") is located about eleven kilometers away from Villa la Angostura travelling along an avenue bearing the same name facing in the direction of San Martin de los Andes.
It is a winding dirt road that crosses thick coihue forests as well as mountains in some sections.
Moreover, it crosses the north area of the Correntoso Lake and the Lago Espejo (Espejo Lake). After crossing the bridge heading left and travelling about two kilometers, the Lago Espejo Chico (Espejo Chico Lake) is found.
If we continue travelling along this road the Pichi Traful river can be seen. Moreover, it crosses other lakes such as the Lago Escondido, Villarino and Falker, Lago Hermoso, Lago Machónico and Lacar.

CAMINO DE LOS SIETE LAGOS

Although the name of this place can be quite deceiving, in fact it is a beautiful valley in Villa la Angostura. There are several access routes to get to this place. Hence, it is highly recommended to ask a guide for advice before setting off.
It is almost impossible to provide a description of a tour around this valley, surrounded by wonderful hills more than one thousand and five hundred meters tall, namely the Inacayal, Belvedere, and Filo Belvedere, until arriving at the mouth of Arroyo Las Piedritas.
A varied flora and fauna and the sounds of nature are the main attractions that can be found here. Not only visiting this place but also staying at the campsite can be hugely enjoyable. During the summer months, long walks are very common. Generally it takes up to four hours to reach the place.

QUETRIHUE PENINSULA

This forests lies in the heart of Villa la Angostura, south east of the Quetrihue Peninsula (Quetrihue is a Mapuche word and means "where myrtles can be found"). It is located at the end of the road that begins at the entrance of Los Arrayanes National Park.
It is possible to access this place by bicycle and the whole journey will take about three hours. Also, this forest can be visited by foot and it will take about three hours to reach the place only.
If you decide to go walking it is important to bear in mind that the first part of the journey is the hardest one. After the first 800 meters, visitors will hardly run into any difficulty.
After walking for an hour, a small stream that flows into the Hua-Huan Lagoon is found. Once the stream is crossed, the Laguna Patagua (Patagua Lagoon) and its natural charms dominate the landscape.
